Life In Eden

In some ways, Jesus has brought us back to Eden. When God banished Adam and Eve from the garden, it was for a purpose. It was so that they could no longer eat from the Tree of Life. The astonishing thing to me, is that at some point fairly early in his years, Adam stopped eating from the Tree of Life but he still lived to be 930 years old. And, his offspring also lived to be very old including Methuselah, who lived to be 969. Apparently, this Tree of Life becomes a part of your DNA which can be passed down to your children. It’s fascinating to think about.

There are only three books of the Bible that mention the Tree of Life, Genesis, Proverbs and Revelation. In Revelation, the Tree makes its appearance again, giving eternal life to us once more. Jesus, whom the Apostle Paul calls “the second Adam” brings death to sin and resurrects the Tree of Life by His own death on a tree. Wow! What a story!

What would you do if you suddenly found yourself in Eden? As we will find in the scriptures, it’s a very real question for all of us and relevant for today.
